This past week I have been extremely blessed by several one-on-one meetings with a few very special people. The Lord definitely scheduled these meetings at the perfect times, as each of them were exactly what I needed at exactly the right time.
It began with my so sweet meeting on Tuesday, with Anna Cavoto. Although I already shared many of the details of that meeting, there is so much more that truly impacted my heart. If you don’t know her, Anna is one of the most cultured people I have ever met and has ridiculous amounts of wisdom, way beyond her years. I find that there is never a time in which the Lord does not speak to me through her. She is not your typical smart person, you know, the one who knows a lot and lets everyone know all about how much they know. Instead, she is packed full of crazy knowledge and insight, but never tosses it around or flaunts it in any way. She is wise in every way possible, and the Lord is continually increasing that wisdom. As I am completely aware of this, I am always looking for things to take away from our conversations. She helps me see scripture in deeper ways, see the beauty of the Lord in more creative ways, and hear His voice with more clarity. She is one to keep.
My next incredible one-on-one was with Harmoni Morales. Harmoni is quite possibly one of the most chill and laid-back people I have ever met in my life. I can’t help but feel clam when I am with her. The most beautiful part about her chill personality is that she has been through plenty of things that could have potentially caused her to be more on edge. By the grace of the Lord, she walks in humility and trust and brings peace to those around her. During my time with Harmoni, I found that I have the tendency to think I am the only person that has walked some of the roads I have walked. The Lord showed me that I am never alone. First, He is always walking our walk with us, and second, He will always bring people into our lives that can understand our feelings to some extent. He also used my time with Harmoni to remind me, again, the beauty of being unique. Harmoni is so incredibly beautiful, both physically and spiritually. She is just completely different from most people I know, and I so value that about her. She is so confident in who she is, and it makes my heart smile.
After spending quality time with Harmoni, I moved on to meet with Alicia Mentz. Alicia is the girlfriend of my dear friend and brother, David Lewin. After talking with David I determined that since he is an important part of my life, and she means so much to him, that it was important for me to take the time to get to know her. We met at Starbucks and decided that in order to better know one another we would just share our entire testimonies. After hearing Alicia’s testimony, I found myself feeling as if I had known her for many years. Her spirit is so sweet and she is so completely devoted to Jesus. I also found myself developing a great amount of respect for her, as she is so intentional about glorifying the Lord through her every action. She really sets an example for those around her without even realizing it. It is so precious to know her and be a part of her walk during this season.
Later that night I met up with my sweet brother, Joe Lewin. There are very few people in my life that understand me the way Joe does. He really takes the time to listen to what I am saying and instead of giving me his first response, he actually thinks about what I have said and attempts to understand how I feel. I was truly blessed by our conversation. I was able to share with him a lot of what I have walking through over the past couple of weeks and he responded to me in such a way that he did not negate my feelings. He spoke truth and encouraged me, but also acknowledged my pain. In the same way, he allowed me to speak into his life as well, and I was extremely honored by this opportunity. Joe has a really sweet gift for showing people their value in various ways. I am so blessed to call him brother.
The last of my wonderful meetings was with my sweet friend Rachael Newnam. Rachael and I took some time to tell each other about our lives and this was extremely helpful for me. We have been friends for quite some time but we have never taken the time to tell each other where we came from or what we have been through. When you know someone’s story, it really helps you understand every part of them in a deeper way. Our time was so sweet and so special to me. We had a nice discussion about the enemy’s plan and how he uses our struggles to make things in natural seem different from what they truly are. This was extremely helpful for me in this time. I am so grateful that the Lord allowed us to come together and just talk things out that I might not have processed otherwise. Rachael, like Anna, is full of wisdom and beautiful in every way possible.
After having all of these meetings, I spent some quality alone time with Jesus. He is teaching me so much and showing me so many new and exciting things. I am so blessed that the Lord has placed so many amazing people in my life and is allowing me to learn countless lessons with and from them. I am definitely in a season like no other, and I know the fruit from it will the sweetest yet. I cannot wait to see where He takes me, where He takes the sweet people around me, and what He does with our friendships. It’s gonna be wild and great and full of Him.
